Known as the lazy man's grass, centipede requires the least maintenance and does well in acidic sandy soils. It requires full sun and limited fertilization. Its medium blade and light apple green color are attractive to many home owners, but, cold hardiness can be a concern in some areas.
Known for its rapid recovery under high traffic, it has long been the turf of choice for sports fields and public areas. Under full sun with good maintenance and proper mowing, 419 can provide a durable turf for home lawns as well.
A good zoysia lawn has no equal. Compadre zoysia is a medium blade type that is easy to maintain in full sun and limited shade. Tough and tight knit, these zoysia resist disease and weeds extremely well and have excellent drought tolerance. When dormant, nothing compares to this zoysia with the "golden" winter color and texture. Unlike fine bladed types, no special mowing equipment is needed.
A proven and popular turfgrass for North Carolina. Local research trials assure that each year only the best four varieties are used in this blend that includes 5% bluegrass. Confederate lawns require less overseeding, have better disease resistance, excellent shade tolerance and deep year round color.
