Vandemark Farms 419 Hybrid Bermuda is a fine textured, warm season grass that is native to Africa. An improved hybrid like this does not produce a viable seed head, therefore, this variety can only be planted vegetatively. It offers the consumer quick recovery from damage or wear. Dominantly used on athletic fields, it has begun to find some advantages in the home lawn applications. 419 Hybrid Bermuda grows excellent in full sun and typically needs only 8 hours of sunlight.

It develops a dense canopy that when maintained correctly will inhibit weed growth. Recommended mowing height of 1” or less and should be done with a reel-mower to prevent damage done by scalping the turf. Unlike many of other Bermuda cultivars, 419 Hybrid Bermuda develops less seed heads, requires less inputs and minimal irrigation to maintain its appearance. The cold tolerance of 419 Hybrid Bermuda is also great. This sod can be laid dormant and will green up as the temperatures increase in the spring.
