Vandemark Farms Raleigh St. Augustine is the most cold tolerant of all St. Augustine grasses. Released from North Carolina State University in 1980, it has become the pinnacle of St. Augustine grasses. This is due to its slow growth, excellent shade and salt tolerance, and minimal overall maintenance.

It's course blade inhibits weed growth when maintained at proper mowing heights. Raleigh St. Augustine is not available by seed and can only be planted vegetatively (sodded or sprigged). It will typically grow well in a landscape with a minimum of 4 hours of sunlight.
